The church of St. Nikolaos of Molos is the only Venetian building that was rescued by the calamitous earthquake and the fire of 1953. It was built in 1561 from the guild of Seamen, and they elected St. Dennis a vicar in order to honour Him.

Initially it was built on a small islet which was linked with the land with a bridge. Afterwards the various embankments that became for the extension of the city, it connected with the island. Externally has been invested with Stone and the belfry which in the old days holded the signal lamp of Harbour, it has been restored.
