The 'Gydaros Taverna' - Gydaros meaning donkey took its name approximately a century ago!
The folk from the Valley of Zakynthos would come into town, on their donkey of course and to avoid polluting the town with any waste from the donkeys they would leave them at the 'Gydaros Taverna' continue into town by foot and then when finished return to pick up their donkey on their way home.
There is a large wooden veranda with amazing views for you to sit and enjoy your meal at a leisurely pace..
